CASAMALIA

The project is born from the desire to preserve the memory of a house that held the story of a past era. The various textures of the wallpaper and tiles clearly depicted the historical period of the 1960s, a treasure too rich in beauty to be
destroyed and erased from memory. From these emotions arises the need to fix the past in time, applying it to the intervention of the present. Nora Santonastaso, known on social media as “Design Outfit”, is an architect who “personalizes homes for people, offering a service that is tailored to each individual.” In line with the meaning of her nickname, a series of portraits of her were taken in the house before its renovation. Successively, the different textures of each room were applied to her dress, blending the environment onto her. Just as if each room were an Outfit.

Edi Solari has been an interior and architectural photographer since 2009. She works with architectural firms, designers and magazines. Born in Tuscany, in Porto Santo Stefano, in Argentario, she grew up with the horizon of the sea in front of her eyes, and with the harmony of the countryside all around her. She has always had an interest in the beautiful places we call ‘home’. In 2017, she started working with the interior design magazine Ville&Casali, and she grew close to the world of architects and designers. Based in Rome, she photographs homes all around the world. One of the aspects that renders her job unique is the possibility to travel, to fix, with her camera lens, the personality of homes in every age and style, interiors, gardens, moulded environments of an architectural project, boats, hotels, and designer projects.
